Join Fresh Arts and the Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs for a special evening celebrating the close of Artist INC Houston- Spring 2017 session. The free event will feature a cocktail reception and short visual presentations by the first graduating Artist INC Houston class which includes a diverse group of 24 of Houston’s brightest and most driven visual and performing artists.  Over the last 8 weeks these artists have gathered one night a week to develop their entrepreneurial skills and strengthen their artistic practice through mentorship opportunities, expert presentations, and peer networks. Now in its eighth year, the Artist INC program has been completed by more than 700 regional artists. 


Presenting artists include:

Khalil AbuSharekh, Khrystyna Balushka, Aaron Jaymes Booker, Eepi Chaad, Adam Vincent Clay, Luisa Duarte, Karen Eisele, Hedwige Jacobs, Claire Drennan Jarvis, Mathieu JN Baptiste, Elaine Kuckertz, Melanie Loew, David Maldonado, Pat McEnery, Edgar Medina, Corine Michel, Karen Navarro, Roberta Paixao Cortes, Nathan Parmer, Cary Reeder, Dominique Royem, Y. E. Torres, Heather vonReichbauer, and Suzanne L Woodbury.


Artist INC Houston Spring 2017 Peer Facilitators include GONZO247, Emanualee “Outspoken” Bean, Felipe Lopez, Tami Merrick, Mollie Haven Miller, and Lori Yuill.


Artist INC is a collaborative partnership between Mid-America Arts Alliance, and the University of Missouri-Kansas City Innovation Center.


Artist INC Houston is administered by Fresh Arts and is supported in part by an award from Mid-America Arts Alliance, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the Texas Commission on the Arts, and foundations, corporations individuals throughout Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Texas.
